The House is very active culturally and has a permanent exhibition on the Baixada de Jacarepaguá called “The Sertão Carioca – The other margin of Rio” that tells the history of the region that was called the Sertão because it is distant from the urban center and mainly rural at the time of its foundation. There are also temporary exhibitions and craft workshops. In the House there are also music shows; saraus; literary events; and cultural gastronomic events – one of them is Sabores and Sabores, a project that unites art and gastronomy to strengthen cultural identities.
