Eva Klabin Foundation
The foundation became a reference in the cultural life of the city.
The Eva Klabin Foundation houses the collection gathered by Eva Klabin (1903-1991), one of the most important collections of classical art in Brazilian museums, with more than two thousand pieces covering an arch of time of almost 50 centuries, from Ancient Egypt to Impressionism. The collection is on permanent display and open to the public in the museum house installed in the residence where the collector lived for more than 30 years and covers paintings, sculptures, furniture and decorative art objects.
Born from the desire of the collector to take the precious collection gathered throughout a lifetime to the city of Rio de Janeiro, the Foundation was created in 1990, a year before the death of its idealizer and institution and was officially open to the public in August 1995. Throughout these years of existence, the Foundation has offered a varied and quality cultural programming that includes, in addition to guided visits to the collection, activities such as exhibitions, concerts, films, courses and conference.
