Cultural Center of the Judiciary
The CCPJ-Rio operates on the ground floor of the Old Palace of Justice and the programming of its Cultural Agenda is free and open to society. The programs offered by the CCPJ-Rio are original, diversified and seek continuity for audience formation around its development.
Created in April 2009, by the Presidency of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the Cultural Center of the Judiciary of the State of Rio de Janeiro (CCPJ-Rio) is the direct heir of Cultural EMERJ, developed from 2000 to 2008 at the School of Magistracy of the State of Rio de Janeiro (EMERJ), and for which the PJERJ received honorable mention at the Innovare Prize in 2008.
With the opening of the Old Palace of Justice in November 2010, after restoration works, the CCPJ-Rio began its activities at the Palace. Since then, responsible for managing the Cultural Agenda of the PJERJ, the CCPJ-Rio has offered cultural programming in order to foster reflection on values of justice, stimulating the healthy alliance between Society and Judiciary; enriching and expanding the work of the PJERJ as a promoter of social transformation; and thus contributing to social peace.
