Cultural Box

You're in the city centre and you want a free and easy-to-reach cultural option? The Rio de Janeiro Cultural BOX is divided into two spaces: Drive Unit and Nelson Rodrigues Theatre, and is part of the cultural corridor of the city center.

The two units are close to institutions like Theatro Municipal, Museum of Modern Art, Rio Art Museum, Museu do Amanhã and National Library.

The Drive Unit offers the public a cinema and three art galleries. The Nelson Rodrigues Theatre, with 409 seats, presents diverse programming for audiences of all ages.

According to the Cultural BOX, the spaces open to the different ways of producing, feeling, displaying and creating from artistic practices in celebration of Brazilian cultures, as well as articulating a network of connections and possibilities to promote the art thought and produced by and for the Brazilian people.
