Catacomba Municipal Natural Park
The large conservation unit on the shores of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas attracts not only the wide green area, but also the entertainment and adventure options for young people and children.
Catacomb Park is in an area that was reforested in the 1970s. With almost 27 hectares, the park has a great diversity of trees, plants and flowers. In the lower part, several sculptures can be admired outdoors. Paved paths and small squares with stone floors make it the perfect place for hiking and picnics. On the high side, the densest forest takes over.
A 600-metre trail gives access to the Sacopã viewpoint, where it is possible to have a beautiful view of the Rodrigo de Freiras Lagoon and Jardim Botânico, besides the beach of Ipanema, Pedra da Gávea and Morro Dois Irmãos. Visitors can take advantage of the leisure activities offered by a private company that operates in the park, including arvorism, rappelling, zippy and climbing wall.
