Salt cod fritters are the cuisine’s specialty. It is one of the 25 bars declared to be National Landmarks by the City of Rio. The traditional bar on the North Zone gathers the attention of the neighborhood, the families from the South Zone and even the tourists; everyone wants to try the best draft beer and the best salt cod fritters of the city. The bar received the title of best draft beer in 2009 and best salt cod fritter in 2010, as well as being recently nominated as the best “pé sujo” (low-end bar) by the Prêmio Rio Show de Gastronomia (Rio Show Gastronomy Prize).
