With the arrival of the Carnaval Street in Rio, the National Historic and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan) launches, in partnership with Riotur, the campaign “Who samba cares”, focused on awareness of the celebrations about the importance of preserving cultural goods on a federal level during the feast.
The initiative has the support of Dream Factory, a winning company of Riotur Charge Card and responsible for the logistics operation of Carnaval de Rua next to Prefeitura do Rio, besides the Rio Metro.
Since last year, Riotur and Iphan have been developing awareness actions aimed at the public who attend street blocks, with the aim of encouraging responsible attitudes and reconciling the celebration of the largest popular party in the country with the protection of the city's historical heritage.
The campaign can be checked in the application Rio blocks 2026, which brings together the official programming of street blocks, and official website of Riotur (www.carnavalderua.rio). In addition, the action is present in strategic points close to fallen goods, through posters and informative tarps installed in the fences. The materials present the history of historical buildings and monuments with the visual identity of the campaign, especially in the areas where carnival processions pass. Iphan also gives visibility to the Official hotsite.
The campaign is also displayed on CarnaLED, large cube installed at Copacabana Beach, which conveys relevant information about the Carnaval and public awareness and education actions. The dissemination also extends to social networks, reinforcing the importance of public collaboration, with guidelines so that they do not climb in monuments or practice any form of depredation of historical goods.
During the parade period, Riotur maintains constant dialogue with the direction of the official calendar blocks, promoting a joint work of disseminating information and good practices for the preservation of the cultural heritage of Rio.
