Rio was confirmed as the headquarters of the 2026 edition of SAHIC – South American Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference, which will be held between March 22 and 24. This will be the first time a city has hosted the event for two consecutive years.
The choice was motivated by the success of the 2025 edition and consolidates Rio as a strategic destination for investments in tourism and hospitality in Latin America.
The conference should bring together more than 400 participants from around 15 countries, including executives, investors, public authorities and representatives of major global hotel networks. The program includes thematic panels, business rounds and institutional meetings.
The event will mark the 20 years of SAHIC and reinforce the role of Rio as a Latin American business hub in the sector, with expectation of new contracts and expansion of the hotel infrastructure.
Currently, tourism represents more than 150,000 formal jobs in the city. The forum should boost opportunities and attract new investments to the sector.
