Preparations in full steam: Sapucaí gains renewed structure for Carnaval 2026

The countdown has already begun, and the Marquis de Sapucaí undergoes important improvements to the Carnaval 2026!

The works are being carried out by Prefeitura do Rio, through the Riotur, the Municipal Department of Conservation (Seconserva) and Liesa.

One of the main changes is the installation of ten transverse ducts along the entire extension of the samba runway. These structures will house the sound cables, electric power and scenic lighting, eliminating exposed wires on the track and dispensing the use of the sound car.

The novelty will allow a digital sound system, ensuring high quality audio for everyone: from the audience, at any point in the stands, to the sliders and rhythmists.

Another innovation is freedom for interpreters, who can now move along the parade. They will use directional microphones and headphones to accurately track battery rhythm.
