Parade of the Champions 2025: the best schools return to Sapucaí this Saturday

This Saturday, March 8, 2025, the Marquis de Sapucaí will be the stage of the awaited Champions' Parade, event that celebrates the six samba schools best placed in this year's Carnaval. The party starts at 10:00 p.m., providing the public with a last chance to experience the magic and splendor of the gatherings that stood out in Rio folia.

The results were calculated on Wednesday 5 March, consecrating the Beija-Flor of Nilópolis as the great champion of the Carnaval 2025. The schools that will return to the avenue for the Parade of the Champions, in order of presentation, are:

1. Hose (6th place)
2. Portela (5th place)
3. Vidour (4th place)
4. Empress Leopoldinense (3rd place)
5. Academics of the Greater Rio (2nd place)
6. Kiss-Flor of Nilópolis First place)

Each school will again present its plot that enchanted the public and the judges during the official parades:

• Hose: With the plot "To the Flower of the Earth – In the River of Negritude between Pains and Passions", the green and pink celebrates the influence of the Bantus peoples in the cultural formation of Rio de Janeiro, especially in the city and the Afro-Brazilian religions.
• Portela: The blue and white brought the plot "Singing Will Be Seeking the Path That Will Give in the Sun – A Homage to Milton Nascimento", homage to Milton Nascimento, telling his musical trajectory through a procession that leaves the suburb of Rio towards Minas Gerais.
• Vidour: With "Malanguinho, messenger of three worlds", the school tells the story of Malunguinho, a quilombola leader who became an African-Indian entity cultivated in three spiritual worlds.
• Empress Leopoldinense: Presented "Omi Tutú to Olufon - Fresh Water To the Lord of Ifon", the story of the epic encounter between African kings Imeira and Xangô, marked by adventures and difficulties overcome by justice.
• Academics of the Greater Rio: With the plot "Poorocas Parawaras - the waters of my charms in the beads of the curimbós", the school explores the legend of three Turkish princesses who were enchanted in Pará and became cultuated entities in local culture and stampbó.
• Kiss-Flor of Nilópolis: The champion brought "Beija-Flor Conta e Canta o Brasil de Laíla", a tribute to the legendary director of carnaval Laíla and his contribution to samba.

Saturday's champion parade promises to close the Carnaval 2025 with gold key. Samba schools will return to Sapucaí to celebrate their achievements and provide the public with a spectacle full of joy, colors and samba on foot. It is the last chance to experience the grandeur of this year's Rio Carnaval on a night that will be marked in the memory of all those in love with this popular party.
