Make way for New Intendant Magellan Carnaval

The show on Magellan Road is about to begin. It's time to schedule not to miss the four nights of folia at this historic address of the Rio Carnaval, which begin on Monday, the 20th, with the Bronze Series parades. The entrance is frank

This year, the party comes with news: to house the parades of the schools of Group B and the Silver and Bronze Series (old access groups C, D and E) of the Carnaval 2023, the party of the Intendente was transferred to the Avenida Ernani Cardoso, in Cascadura, wider and with infrastructure to house the public and to mobilize staff and allegoric cars.

The parades in the New Intendente Magalhães serve as the basis for the Gold Series and the Special Group, and take place on Monday (20) and Tuesday (21), from 18h; and on Friday (24), on Saturday (25) and on Sunday (26), from 20h. The schools of Group B and Bronze and Silver Series of the carnaval carioca will be on the avenue. The parades should gather approximately 200,000 people this year, among passers-by, rhythmists, support staff and general public. It will be four days of lots of music and samba on foot, with free entry.

With the changes in the event, the associations will now have a 350 meter runway to present their plot. The structure also has a space of eight meters wide, allowing a greater number of members per wing and even the construction of floats of larger dimensions.

In order to provide greater security for the space, autonomous salesmen and the marketing of drinks in glass packaging will be prohibited.

According to the president of Riotur, Ronnie Aguiar, the change of address was made to support the production of the party and ensure more comfort to the schools and the revelries that will accompany the parades of the associations. Exclusively mounted for the event with special scenography and lighting, the infrastructure implemented was modernized and reinforced, with lounge, cabins, food court, jury booths, friezes, among other tents and services. Structure never seen in the North Zone parades.

“Our commitment is to democratize the parades, the new structure will enable the revelry that often does not have the opportunity to be in the Marquis of Sapucaí to enjoy a structure in the same format. It is a way to also value the associations and professionals that make carnaval happen.”
