King Momo and Queen of carnaval

The Riotur promoted on the Sambódromo, on Wednesday 12/07, the draw that determined the order of presentation of the candidates who will contest the title of Queen and Princesses of the Carnaval of Rio 2024. The 106 participants enrolled were divided into four groups: A, B, C and D, they being 71.

A First round the competition will take place between days 01/08 and 04/08, in Cidade do Samba from 18hrs with groups A and B counting on 27 candidates, and groups C and D with 26 each. The draw was accompanied by 71 of the candidates for the title, while the others who could not attend were represented by Riotur employees.

A 2nd Elimination is scheduled for days 10/08 and 11/08, also on Cidade do Samba. On the 10th, the groups A and B, with a total of 32 candidates in total, will compete, while on the 11th, Friday, it will be the turn of the 32 group representatives C and D.

A 3rd Elimination, what will happen on the day 15/08, will gather all 40 candidates classified from the 2nd qualifying phase, groups A, B, C and D.

A semifinal is scheduled for the day 18/08 On Thursday, you will have 20 semifinalists.

The long-awaited Great Final will occur in Cidade do Samba on the day 01/09, where will be selected the 10 finalists who will contest the title of Queen of the Carnaval 2024. The first place will receive the crown of Queen and will be part of the Royal Court of the Carnaval 2024, while the second and third place will be crowned Princesses, chosen by a jury and by popular vote.

The competition that is being marked by innovation in the organization, will include the participation of choreographers Mayara Lima and Alex Coutinho who will add an artistic differential to the presentations of candidates at all stages of the process of choice!
