With the arrival of June, Rio also plunges into the climate of the June festivals. Throughout the month, neighborhoods from different regions of the city will receive a diverse program that brings together live music, gangs, traditional games, typical gastronomy and activities for all ages.
Between events already consolidated in the Rio calendar and new editions of theme festivals, the June festivals become an alternative of leisure for residents and visitors who wish to enjoy the season of São João without leaving the city. The program includes cultural spaces, squares, historical centers, tourist areas and even samba school blocks.

One of the highlights is the Dives' sting, which reaches its 11th edition in Barra da Tijuca. The event will occupy Praça do Ó for three days with a program focused on the whole family, gathering musical performances, typical food stalls and activities for the children. At the Centre, the Arraia of the Neighbors with the Silver Block promises to turn the Museu do Amanhã into a great June meeting. The event brings together music, gastronomy and attractions aimed at different age groups in one of Rio's main cultural centers.
The programming also includes the project Juninas do Rio, which will take the climate of São João to various points of the city throughout the month. With editions in Lagoa, Porto Maravilha, Urca and Quinta da Boa Vista, the initiative seeks to democratize access to traditional parties and expand entertainment options for the public. In Santa Teresa, one of the most traditional districts of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, the St. John of Santa. will occupy the Municipal Cultural Center Parque Glória Maria with cultural activities, musical presentations and a program that values the brazilian popular traditions.
Another anticipated attraction is the Carioquêssima na Roça. Known for bringing together gastronomy, fashion, crafts and creative economy, the theme fair will win special editions in June climate at Red Beach, Tijuca and Gloria, combining local culture and northeastern traditions. The North Zone will also be partying with the traditional Willow sting. Held on the street where the samba school headquarters is located, the event mixes the samba universe with the June celebrations, offering live music, typical food and attractions for the whole family.
Among the participating cultural spaces is the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB Rio), who will receive a special edition of their stingray in June. The proposal is to transform the cultural center into a meeting point to celebrate popular demonstrations that are part of the Brazilian cultural identity. In Botafogo, the traditional Feast of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist returns with a program that combines religious celebration, music, typical gastronomy and activities aimed at children and family. The event is considered one of the most traditional in the neighborhood and usually attracts thousands of visitors.
In addition to preserving popular customs, June festivals play an important role in the movement of the creative economy, tourism and the gastronomic sector of the city. The expectation is that thousands of people will participate in the celebrations throughout June, reinforcing the strength of the June traditions in the Rio cultural calendar.
