International tourism in Brazil continues to grow in 2025, with the states of the Southeast consolidating themselves as the main responsible for this advance. Between January and May, the country received 4,887,229 foreign visitors, reaching 70% of the annual target of 6.9 million foreseen in the National Tourism Plan 2024–2027. This positive result is the result of integrated actions of the federal government, which has invested in the dissemination of Brazilian destinations and in improving infrastructure for tourists.
Rio de Janeiro hosted 1.032.537 international tourists in the first five months of the year, with an increase of 52.32% compared to the same period of 2024. This growth confirms the city as one of the main destinations of international tourism.
This performance further highlights Rio as a global city, which combines a modern infrastructure, recognized hospitality and strategic action in attracting events, consolidating itself as a reference in international tourism.
And it's only half the year. Come to Rio! Come and be delighted with this Wonderful City!
