Food di Buteco 2026: see the ranking of the five best bars in Rio

Rio already knows the great winners of Food di Buteco 2026. The traditional gastronomic competition brought together bars from different regions of the city, celebrating creativity, flavor and the essence of the culture of Rio de Janeiro boteco.

The great champion of the edition was Hora Extra Bar Gourmet, from Vila Valqueire, with the dish “Discostela”. The recipe bets on a rib cake with cress, served with cassava cream, a combination that won jurors and public by the striking taste and presentation.
In the second place was Folia do Boi, do Cachambi, with the dish “Deu Cupim na Panelinha”. The creation brings termite with garlic laminated, accompanied by farofa de paio, vinaigrette, red pepper in the coal and garlic-poró confitado.
Representing the Tanque neighborhood, the Vigal Bar secured the third place with the dish “It’s Populating Tastes: The Show!” The portion includes granulated tapioca dumplings with provolone cheese and different fillings, accompanied by pineapple jam, herbal vinaigrette and chimichurri.
In the fourth position appeared Uncle Juca – Tijuca, with the dish “I was Pressed and Liked!”. The recipe combines long-bovine rib, pressed and golden on the plate, served on a crispy base and accompanied by slightly spicy cress sauce.
Closing the Top 5, David's Bar won fifth place with the dish "Conchas Dell Mare". The creation bets on shells of fried pasta, stuffed with seafood to garlic and oil and finished with cabbage pesto.
The theme of 2026 was “green”, challenging bars to explore ingredients such as leaves, stalks and flowers in the creation of dishes. The proposal encouraged creativity and the rescue of techniques and flavors, resulting in recipes that combine barco tradition with culinary innovation. All in all, this edition had the participation of 107 boats only in the city of Rio in the dispute for the best snack. The festival took place between April 10th and May 10th, moving several regions with plates at a fixed price of R $ 40 and having "green" as a mandatory ingredient.
