Folia for all ages: see the children's blocks of the Carnaval of Rua do Rio

The Carnaval of Rua do Rio has guaranteed folia for all ages, including for children. In the period of city parties, the official calendar presents 19 options for families to enjoy with their little ones.

The blocks are mainly concentrated in neighborhoods of the South Zone, Center and the Great Tijuca.

On Saturday (24), the “Gigantes of Lira Ice” begins the feast at 10am, distributing joy and popsicles in Laranjeiras. The block was founded in 1999 and, in recent years, the association has become a reference in the calendar of Rio folia. Already on Sunday (25), the “Little Walk” - son of the block “Just Walk” - will animate Largo dos Lions, in Humaitá.

Another highlight of the period is the “Mini Seres do Mar”, which goes to its 10th parade on February 1st, also in Laranjeiras, and in recent years conquered an audience of all ages with its celebration to marine fauna and flora. At the party, marked by the animation of the band and the performance of the legels (adults and children), mermaids, sea serpents, fish, tritons and spoons will color the streets of the South Zone.

In the North Zone, “Bloquinho Sem Ribalta” will parade at Tijuca with several circus artists, ensuring a playful and charming show. The blocks are part of the 459 parades scheduled between January 17 and February 22, when the city must receive about 8 million revelers.
