Flavors of the Orla 2025: gastronomic festival begins in July!

Since 2018, the Flavors of the Orla Award celebrates the diversity and richness of cuisine on the beaches of Rio, honoring the best dishes and snacks served in the kiosks of the city. The mixture of flavors, which has already passed through a traditional bayion of two recipes inspired by Italian gastronomy, reflects the culture of the Rio riverside. And the party already has a date: 1 to 31 July 2025, happens to eighth edition the event, with the participation of 150 kiosks that promise to transform the waterfront into a true spectacle of flavors, creativity and culture.

In this edition, the competition will be divided into six categories: Star dish, Pastel do Podio, King of the Petisco, Master's Sanduba, Dessert of Dreams and Caipi (Caipi das Capis). The finalists will be selected by SENAC experts, and the winners will be defined by a technical jury led by chef João Diamante, who is also the festival ambassador.

A major novelty this year is the inclusion of Sustainability criterion in the technical evaluation, it will be worth up to 1 point within the total score of 10. This new factor considers practices such as the use of sustainable ingredients, appreciation of local producers, total use of food and combating waste. The initiative reinforces the commitment of Orla Rio, a signatory of the UN Global Pact, with the Sustainable Development Goals and a more conscious beach gastronomy.

During the festival, the public will also have a chance to vote for their favorite dishes through the official website, except for the Star Plate category, which will be decided exclusively by the jurors. The award also has the support of partner brands that help enrich this tasty journey.

Another innovation of this edition is the possibility of the public set up your own gastronomic route directly in official website, saving the script in the agenda and sharing with friends by WhatsApp. The idea is to make the experience more personalized, interactive and fun.

Over the years, names such as QuiQui, Samba Social Club, Praiô, Dragatapé, Classic Beach Club and Tropik have already made their presence at the top of the podium, taking the taste of Rio to the center of the conversation. This year, the festival receives newcomers, such as the Musa kiosk.

The big ones winners will be announced on the day September 4th In a special ceremony.
