Registration is free and will be available from August 25th (Monday) to September 26th (Friday), by email or in person at the headquarters of Riotur.

Candidates aged 18 years or older, living in the state of Rio de Janeiro, with complete primary education, may participate. For the positions of Muso, Musa and Non-Binary Person, it is necessary to identify as a member of the LGBT+ group.

The Regulation and registration form may be requested by e-mail or withdrawn at the headquarters of the Riotur. The dates of the qualifiers will be released soon. Requests for clarification may be forwarded until September 26.

The artistic direction will be Milton Cunha, a fundamental character for the greatest show on Earth, which combines his experience as a carnival to the ability to communicate and translate the party to the public, always valuing his culture and his history.

The competition will take place in October, at Cidade do Samba, with presentations of traditional cariocas samba wheels. This year's theme is "Celebrating ancestry" and subtitle "The future of samba is ancestral." Great names will be honored that contributed significantly to the identity and celebration of the Carnaval, whether for music, art, cultural resistance or the struggle for rights. Among them, Bira Presidente, Lígia Santos, Rosa Magalhães, Márcia Lage, Maria Augusta, Preta Gil and Arlindo Cruz. Registration is free and continues until September 26.
