Draw that defines order of Special Group parades is already dated and will be open to the public

The Special Group has already begun the countdown for another important step towards the parades in Marquis de Sapucaí. The Independent League of Samba Schools in Rio de Janeiro (Liesa) defined that the draw of the order of the parades of 2027 will be held on the day April 16 (Thursday), Cidade do Samba.

As it happened last year, the event will have popular participation. The public will be able to follow the draw free of charge by giving 1 kg of non-perishable food, reinforcing the solidarity character of one of the most anticipated stages of the carioca carnival calendar.

Liesa has already organized the groups for the draw. The so-called “tricks” were divided as follows: United of Maricá, Portela and Independent Youth of Father Miguel; Kiss-Flor of Nilópolis, First Station of Hose and Academics of the Willow; United of the Viradouro, United of Vila Isabel and Empress Leopoldinense; besides the United of the Tijuca, Paradise of the Tuiuti and Academics of the Great Rio. Gold Series Champion in 2026, the United of Maricá will be responsible for opening the parades on Sunday's holiday.

In addition to definitions for 2026, the Carnaval 2027 calendar has also been released. The parades of the Special Group are scheduled for the days 7, 8 and 9 February, with the traditional Parade of the Champions taking place on the 13th, bringing together the six schools best placed for a final celebration in Sapucaí. The expectation is full house at Cidade do Samba, gathering fans, components and passionate about the greatest show on Earth.
