Entangled: A Glorious History in Black and White

In its debut at the Marquis de Sapucaí, the Botafogo Samba Club tells the story of the football club and regatas that name the club. The plot tells the trajectory and origin of the team, from the first years in rowing to the achievements in football, where it became one of the most important clubs in the country, sheltering national idols like Garrincha, Heleno de Freitas, Zagallo, Didi and Túlio Maravilha in their ranks. The school also pays tribute to the Glorious crowd, considered the club's greatest glory.

Inner Ingeny Rip

Entangled: Mothers who feed the sacred

Developed by the only carnival woman among the schools that parade in Sapucaí, Anik Salmon, the plot of the Arranco do Engenho de Inner deals with motherhood. The school intends to portray, with sensitivity, the issues that go through motherhood, from ancestry to the difficulties that women face in their daily lives. Above all, the narrative celebrates motherhood as a source of life, food and faith, highlighting the ancestral importance of female mothers and orishas.

Not guilty of Purple Belford

Ewe, the cure comes from the forest

In 2025, Innocents chose to reissue its 2008 plot: Ewe, the cure comes from the forest. The theme addresses the power of healing through plants and the need to preserve forests. The school decided to bring back the plot and samba by believing that the theme is more alive than ever, highlighting the importance of awareness about environmental preservation for the continuity of life on Earth.

United of the Bridge

Entangled: Anthropocene

The United of the Bridge leads to the avenue an important reflection on man's relationship with planet Earth. “Antropocene”, the title of the plot, is a scientific term used to designate our current geological stage, in which human action is primarily responsible for the changes on the planet. From this perspective, the school warns of the environmental challenges of the contemporary world, especially with regard to the critical use of natural resources and the unbridled exploitation driven by capitalism. This reality threatens the stability of natural systems and compromises the quality of life of human communities, as well as affecting future generations.

Stage of Sá

Entangled: The Lion became enchanted Amazonian

The Lion, symbol of one of the most traditional associations of the Rio carnaval, makes an invitation to an enchanted journey in an Amazonian playful world, filled with myths and legends. The plot of Estácio de Sá brings the motto of the native peoples and their ancestors, establishing a dialogue with culture and regionality, having as locus the Amazon forest. To dive into this universe, the school gives voice and listen to storytellers, as well as some literary writings, which will be artistically adapted and carnivalized.

Enredo: Opera dos Terreiros – Canto do Encanto da Alma Brasileira

The opera dos terreiros, plot of Em Cima da Hora, is a celebration of the cultural and spiritual wealth of Brazil, diving in the rituals, myths and traditions of the terreiros. Through a fascinating journey, the plot explores the music, dance and singing that emanate from these sacred spaces, revealing the charm of the Brazilian soul. It is a tribute to the diversity and spirituality that permeate the national identity, with the promise of an exciting experience for all Carnaval lovers.

Union of Maricá

Entangled: The horse of the Most Holy and the crown of His 7

Another newcomer in the Marquis de Sapucaí, the Union of Maricá will pay tribute to an emblematic figure of the Rio Umbanda: Your Seven, King of Lira. The theme sheds light on the mother of Saint Cacilda de Assis and his most famous entity, an Exu Festeiro that marked the time in Rio de Janeiro. The entity became popular and became attraction on TV, in programs such as Chacrinha and Flávio Cavalcanti. In addition, Seu Sete composed a musical album, founded a carnival block and brought together a legion of followers in the terreiro of the medium that incorporated him, in Saníssimo, in the Southwest of Rio. The school intends to take the party soul and the spirit of joy of the entity to dictate the directions of the parade on the avenue!

Union of the Island

Entangled: Ba-der-na! Mary of the People

Everyone has heard of “badden”, which usually means something in disorder or confusion. What the Island Union will present in this carnaval is the history behind the expression, the origin of the use of that term. The story refers to the Italian dancer Marietta Baderna, who stood out on the stage of Rio de Janeiro in the 19th century. His bold and innovative dance conquered the public, but it caused horror to the elite of the time. That's why his name became synonymous with "baguça". The school's proposal is to exalt Marietta as "the dancer of the people", highlighting her cultural importance and the impact of her art in Brazil.

Tradition

Enredo: Reza

A theme that goes beyond the religious walls and connects with the sacred, in their different traditions. This is the proposal of Tradition with “Reza”, plot for the carnaval 2025. The school will enter Sapucaí in prayer for a better world and for the right to exist, understanding prayer also as a political act. The plot was born curiously: soon after winning the Gold Series and gaining access to Sapucaí, the school's director carnaval joked that the next song to play at the party would be the theme next year. In the sound box, she echoed Maria Rita's voice, with the song Reza, authored by Blackinho da Serrinha - who also became one of the authors of the samba-enredo of the school for the carnaval. The plot was chosen!

Union of the Park Acari

Enredo: Silver strings - the musical portrait of the people

The Union of Park Acari promises to take to the avenue an intimate and fundamental character of the country's cultural history: the guitar. The plot presents the instrument in its journey, from its origin as a tool of the elites, until it becomes the companion of the popular causes, the sound of the pilgrimages, parties and singing, and the protagonist of important cultural movements of the country. The idea is not simply to present a chronology of the guitar, but to understand how the collaboration of each part of the people was decisive to make it one of the most intimate instruments of all Brazilians.

Academics of Vicar General

Entangled: Echoes of a Vagalume

The trajectory of journalist Francisco Guimarães, known as Vagalume, will be the plot of the Academics of Vicar General in this carnaval. Descendents of slaves, Vagalume is one of those hidden characters in history, but who played a key role in his time, the Rio de Janeiro of the early twentieth century, in this case. In his chronicles, he portrayed the city's cracks, highlighting black people, residents of the suburbs, and their festive and religious practices, highlighting this population in other pages of the newspapers, other than the police. Through the words of Vagalume, the school wishes to reflect on yesterday and today of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

United Bangu

Enredo: Maraka'anandê - Ancestral Resistance

School of the Southwest Zone, the United of Bangu tells the story of the Village Maracanã, symbol of indigenous resistance in the city of Rio. According to the plot, the site is ancestral territory, which sheltered the Jabebirac village, the most important Tupinambá village of the then Guanabara state. Twenty years ago, the urban village was refounded by indigenous peoples of different ethnicities and since 2013 it has been the subject of dispute for the vacancy of the land, around the stadium of the Maracanã. With the plot, the school joins the struggle for the preservation of identity, culture and territory of the urban village, as well as the tipping of the historical building.

United Port of the Stone

Entangled: The story that the time rubber didn't erase

Porto da Pedra tells a curious case in 2025: Fordlândia, a real history of the construction of a working city in the middle of the Brazilian Amazon, gestated by Henry Ford, for the planting of rubber trees, latex extraction and rubber production. Fordland was presented to many as the promise of a new life and, in a short time, became a machine of profit and progress of few; for the vast majority, it became synonymous with hopelessness and agony. From this history, the samba school summons the peoples of the forest to hear the other side, of resistance of the beings of the forest and resumption of their invaded territory.

Saint Clement

Entangled: Saint Clement gives voice to those who do not have

Saint Clement's proposal for this carnaval is simple: a message of defense and love for animals. Through its parade, the school intends to celebrate the caring treatment, especially dedicated to domestic animals, closer to humans, and denounce the ill-treatment that many suffer. The plot exalts the connection between men and animals, invites reflection on all the cruelty committed and pays homage to all the protectors and initiatives that fight for animal welfare, with a special reverence to Saint Francis of Assisi, patron saint of the pets.

Niterói academics

Plot: Vixe Maria

The Academics of Niterói promises to hold a large arraia on the avenue with the plot about the June festivities of Maracanaú, in Ceará, where it happens one of the largest São João in the world. The plot brings the origins of this popular festival and the history of one of the most popular parties in Brazil. This path begins in the festivities in the noble halls of Europe, until it reaches our country, with the transformation into an extremely popular religious procession from north to south, especially in the northeastern states. The school announces a joyful parade, based on some pillars of the Brazilian people: party, faith, culture and fun.

Serrano Empire

Entangled: What amazes misery is party

One of the most traditional associations of the carnaval carioca, the Serrano Empire revers one of its great bulwarks: composer Laudeni Casemiro, the Beto Sem Armo. Author of classics such as "Bumbum Praticumbum Prugurundum" and "Mother Baiana Mãe", was also director of the Serrinha school for many years. As the title of the plot, the school chose one of the most celebrated phrases of its famous composer: “What amazes misery is party”. With this motto, the school intends to exalt the legacy of the bulwark and celebrate its life and work, which intertwines with the life of the Serrano Empire itself.
