Countdown initiated: Series Schools Gold reveal its plots for the Carnaval 2026

The wait has come to an end! Samba Schools of the Series Gold has already set its plots for the Carnaval 2026, and the countdown to the world's largest popular party is officially open. The Marquis de Sapucaí prepares for another show of colors, rhythms and emotion, with parades that promise to delight the public and warm hearts in love with samba.

The Gold Series parades will take place on 13 and 14 February 2026 (Sixth and Saturday), gathering traditional and emerging associations in search of a spot in the coveted Special Group.

Friday – 13 February

• United of Jacarezinho - The United of Jacarezinho will honor singer Xande De Pilares at the Carnaval of 2026. The school will soon release plot title, soon and synopsis of the plot.

• Not guilty of Purple Belford - Innocent will take the plot to Sapucaí “The dream of such a Russian pagoda in the frevos of my Pernambuco”. The theme will be centered on Pernambucan culture, forró and samba.

• Acari Park Union - In the 2026 carnaval, the Union of the Park Acari reaffirms his commitment to the valorization of Brazilianity and popular culture by bringing to light a fundamental page, but little known, of our artistic and cultural memory: “Brazilian”: pioneer musical theater group, idealized in 1949, revolutionized the brazilian theatrical scene by introducing cultural practices, musical and popular narratives as pillars of its dramatic construction, always through the vision and protagonism of black artists.

• United of Father Miguel - Father Miguel's United announces plot with ancestral force and exalts Clara Shrimp at Carnaval 2026. With "Kunhã-Eté: The Sacred Breath of the Jurema", the school leads to Sapucaí the history of the indigenous warrior who became a symbol of courage, leadership and female resistance in colonial Brazil.

• Union of Governor's Island - The plot of the Island Union for the Carnaval of 2026 will be "Long live today! Tomorrow? Later.", inspired by the Halley Comet and the moment of experience that this represents for the school. The school plans to explore the joy and irreverence of the Rio people in relation to this cosmic event, remembering that life is transient and must be lived intensely.

Saturday – February 14

• Botafogo Samba Club - The Botafogo Samba Club set its plot for the carnaval of 2026. “Brazil that flourishes in art”. The school will take to the avenue a great homage to the legacy of Roberto Burle Marx, master of landscaping and visual arts. The theme will be developed by carnivalesque Alexandre Rangel and Raphael Torres, who will make their debut in the alvinegra club next year.

• In Top of the Hour - The city of Saquarema, jewel of the fluminense coast, will be the heart of the plot “Socoa-y-Rema – Where the altar meets the sea”.

• Stage of Sá - What? The G.R.E.S. plot. Estacio de Sá for the Carnaval of 2026 presents a narrative permeated with orality, about Tancredo da Silva Pinto (Tata Tancredo), and brings the motto with writings about his passage in this earthly plane, as well as an imaginary line of his arrival in the orum, leadership in front of umbanda omolocó and acting in the Rio carnaval that will be artistically adapted and carnivalized.

• Serrano Empire - The Serrano Empire will have the writer Conceição Evaristo as a plot, in the search for victory in the Gold Series in the carnaval of 2026. With the theme "Poncia Evaristo Flor do Mulungu", next year's parade will honor the author who is a reference of the brazilian black literature and will have inspiration in her "screviências" (term created by her to describe the writing that is born of the experience of black women).

• United Port of the Stone - With the title "From the Ancients of the World, Sweet and Bitter Kiss of the Night", the theme will treat the history of prostitution and how sex workers have been portrayed over the centuries - sometimes as stigmas, sometimes as symbols of resistance.
