Christmas trees illuminate Rio and warm the economy of the city!
The Prefeitura do Rio, through the Riotur and the Municipal Secretariat for Economic Development, projects an impact of R $ 96.9 million on the Rio economy during the Christmas season. The estimate takes into account the visitation of residents and tourists to the two large Christmas trees installed in the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and the Inlet of Botafogo, which should receive about 2.15 million people by January.
The Return of the Traditional Lagoon Tree
After five years, one of the cariocas' most beloved Christmas symbols is back: the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas Christmas Tree. In this new edition, the floating monument resurfaces with 60 meters high and 20 kilometers of LED and Neon Flex, offering a spectacle of visible lights from various points around the Lagoon.
The lights remain on until King's Day on January 6, officially marking the end of Christmas celebrations in the city.
The first Floating Tree of the Botafogo Cove
For the first time, the Botafogo Cove receives a Christmas facility of this size. The structure, with 80 meters high and 2.3 million LEDs, was developed to withstand the winds characteristic of the edge and positioned strategically to be seen from different points of the beach and region.
Besides the visual impact, the attraction was designed to promote coexistence, encounters and sensory experiences, reinforcing the Christmas spirit in the heart of the South Zone.
