The show “What If We Were Whales?” by the Teatral Collective A Digna, premiere in Rio on Thursday (03/09), at 19h, in the Multipurpose Room of Sesc Copacabana. Indicated to the Shell Award for Best Dramaturgy in 2024, the montage has text by Victor Nóvoa, director of Fernanda Raquel and performance by Ana Vitoria Bella and Helena Cardoso.
The piece follows an employee of a large technology company who lives a repetitive and oppressive routine. After dreaming that she had become a whale, she starts acting differently at work and gets fired. The video of the moment viralizes and causes a series of changes in your life.
The montage proposes a reflection on the exhaustion caused by virtual relations, digital capitalism and the transformation of affections into merchandise in contemporary society. Created in 2010, the Collective Digna has already received two APCA Awards and develops works focused on theatrical experimentation and relations between city, society and everyday life. The season runs until September 27.
