The actor, author and director Michel Melamed is on display with the show “The Employee Asking Not to Be Identified” in Sesc Copacabana. The assembly integrates the Pulsar project, initiative of Sesc RJ aimed at promoting contemporary artistic production.
With text, songs and direction signed by Melamed, the play brings together on stage actresses Inez Viana, Simone Mazzer, Thalma de Freitas and Yasmin Gomlevsky. The show proposes a reflection on the limits of artistic creation in a scenario marked by bureaucratization and the need for institutional validation.
The plot unfolds in a fictional Registration and Production Sector of Artistic Works, where ideas need to be approved to exist. At the center of the narrative is an employee who, unable to develop a project of her own, systematically rejects proposals from others. The turn happens when she decides to create a “Total Art Work”, gathering fragments of everything that was refused.
