The show “Raul Seixas, the musical”, starring Bruce Gomlevsky, returns to the stage of the Rival Petrobras Theatre on September 25. The montage celebrates the 80 years that Raul Seixas would complete in 2025 and promises a journey in the life and work of the artist, considered one of the biggest names of Brazilian rock.
With Leonardo da Selva's direction and dramaturgy and Gabriel Gabriel Gabriel's musical direction, the play invites the public to enter the intimacy of Raulzito on a night of insomnia, in which he composes, writes, recalls and reflects on his artistic trajectory and Brazil at the time. The text is based on original manuscripts by Raul Seixas, a rare material that reveals his reflections on art, freedom, love and the role of the artist in society.
The show brings together more than 20 songs by the singer, in arrangements created especially for the theatrical format. Classics such as “Maluco Beauty”, “Metamorphosis Outing” and “I Was Born Ten Thousand Years Back” share space with less known tracks and songs that marked Raul’s influences, such as “Lucile” and “Blue Suede Shoes”, by Little Richard and Elvis Presley.
