Next January 25th, the Symphony Petrobras Orchestra takes the stage for a free and unmissable performance, celebrating two of the biggest icons of Brazilian and world music: Tom Jobim and Hector Villa-Lobos. The concert "Tom and Villa Symphony" will be held on the shores of the sea, within the programming of Festival Rio Bossa Our, which happens from January 24 to 26 at Ipanema Beach, Posto 10.
Under the rule of Felipe Prazeres, the orchestra will be accompanied by Mario Adnet, a renowned musician who, besides sharing the stage with his voice and guitar, also signs the arrangements of the pieces that compose the repertoire of the performance. The pianist Marcos Nimrichter also integrates the formation, further enriching the performance.
The evening promises to be a real homage to bossa nova and to Brazilian classical music, with works by Villa-Lobos such as “The Girl of the Clouds”, “Ondulating” and “The Little Train of the Caipira”, as well as successes immortalized by Tom Jobim, such as “Wave”, “If All Were Equal to You” and “Imagina”. Both figures are cariocas and represent fundamental milestones in Brazilian music.
The event is part of the celebrations that celebrate Bossa Nova National Day in honor of Tom Jobim, and brings a diverse schedule for the Rio summer. The festival includes music, sports, sustainability, accessibility and social actions, and will have great names of Brazilian music, as well as outdoor activities in the iconic setting of the Wonderful City. The artistic curatorship is from Blackinho da Serrinha, and the presentation will feature the presence of Helo Pinheiro, the Girl of Ipanema.
The entrance to the event is free, and the public can enjoy a unique experience, in the middle of carioca summer, with the beautiful view of Ipanema Beach in the background.
