The atmosphere of juna party will win a soundtrack full of attitude and rock and roll, with the Rock 80 Festival that arrives at the General Tibúrcio Square, at Urca, with a special edition: the Arraial Rock 80 Festival, a free event with solidarity admission (2kg of non-perishable food or online donation) that promises to unite the best of national and international rock to the colorful and tradition of the June celebrations.
The festival will feature an alternative fashion fair, clothing and accessories aimed at the rocker universe, as well as handicraft stands, tattoo, kids space and a lot of street gastronomy with emphasis on varied snacks, and, of course, the traditional junk food such as canjica, green corn and hot. To accompany the food, gastronomy brings several artisanal beers, and still receives the support of the Farra Bier Brewery that will draw beers to the public, making everything even more exciting.
The music program starts on Saturday, the 05th, at noon, with a set by DJ Dexter, known for mixing dance classics and the best of rock. Soon after, at 12:30 p.m., the Vintage RJ Band comes up on stage, accompanied by the students of the New Rocker Academy, with energy-filled rereadings of names like Lulu Santos, Initial Capital, Duran Duran and Scorpions in a fusion between generations that delights the public.
The afternoon follows with more weight: at 2:00 p.m., it is the turn of the Holster Band, with a powerful repertoire that revisits grunge icons such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. At 4:00 p.m., the weather heats up with the Ypsolon Band, which mixes irreverence and rhythm in versions of Mamonas Assassins, Raimundos, Bikini Cavadão and Jota Quest. When the sun starts to set, at 6:00 p.m., the stage receives the vibrant Shot in the Dark, a band that dives into the hits of Bon Jovi, Guns N’ Roses, Skid Row and Roxette. Closing the first day at 8 pm, the electrifying presentation of HRCP Tribute by Snow, a faithful and exciting tribute to Red Hot Chili Peppers.
On Sunday, day 06, the soundtrack starts again at noon with DJ Dexter, followed at 12:30 by Bobsflag's show, author band that performs within the project "I Want to Open Rock 80", aimed at new voices from the independent scene.
At 2:00 p.m., the excitement takes over the Adrenaline Band, bringing an exciting tribute to the Urban Legion songs that marked a generation and follow timeless. Then, at 4:00 p.m., it's Speed Racer's turn, which takes a nostalgic tour of Titan hits, Override Rigor, Radio Taxi and also the synthpop of Depeche Mode and Erasure.
Closing the festival, at 18h, goes to the stage to Connection 80, band that delivers a real celebration of the great names of Brazilian and international music, with repertoire that goes from Skank and RPM to Queen and Plebe Rude.
