The Afro-Brazilian Museum of History and Culture (MUHCAB), at Gamboa, receives on Saturday, February 7, another edition of the festival The GIRA, an event that has been consolidation as an important space for the appreciation of Afro-Brazilian culture in the region of Small Africa. The program starts from 17h and gathers samba, capoeira, ancestry and popular music in a meeting open to the diversity of cultural expressions.
In this edition, the festival promotes a program that dialogues with tradition and contemporaneity, highlighting artists and collectives linked to Afro-Brazilian roots. Among the confirmed attractions are Marcelo Amaro, João Martins, Luz Fogaça, Roda de Capoeira Cult’Ori and Marcos Esguleba, names that represent different artistic languages and trajectories related to music, popular culture and manifestations of African spec.
